Santa Claus?

Amanda's preschool had a visit from Santa Claus.  She had never heard of this person until this year.  We told her several times that Santa was just for pretend.  Santa did bring her lots of presents though.  Even Cameron got to sit in Santa's lap.

Amanda's preschool had a "field trip" to Chuck E. Cheese because one of the kids was having his birthday party there.  I tagged along with Cameron since I have never been.  Amanda had a LOT of fun.  I

Play food

Cameron loves to play pretend with dishes, bowls and other cooking utensils.  He can't do any of the puzzles himself but they come "food" in his bowl.

We may  have a little comedian on our hand.  Cameron thinks this is really funny!

Beginnings of walking

Recenly, Cameron started walking almost exclusive.  This video from a couple of months ago was the beginning of him learning to walk.

Amanda's freak accident

In Sept, Amanda visited the pediatric ER.  She was helping our neighbor doing swept and mop on our stairwell.  She was walking around with her flip flop when she slipped and hit the back of her head on the tiled floor.  She had a cut on the back of her head.  It bled quite a bit... though I thought Amanda's bloody nose prepared me for this.  At the ER, she got two staples to the cut on  her head.  The wound had heal up nicely now.

Bay Area Discovery Museum

We went to Bay Area Discovery Museum for the first time couple of months ago.   Everyone had a blast, even Cameron.

More birthday celebration

Amanda also turned 4 in July.  Her BFF Christa and her had a joint birthday party at Crissy Frield.  We had a small outdoor party in the freezing and windy weather.  Nonetheless, the kids didn't seem very bothered by it.

Cameron turned one!

He turned one a couple of months ago.  Matt made a cake for him with chocolate frosting.  Unfortunately, he just played with the frosting, as opposed to eating it.  Most of the frosting were stuck on his hands.

Fast little crawler

He has been crawling since he was 11 months old.  He can be quite fast.  But so far, he has shown no sign or desire to walk.

Riding on the car

Cameron LOVES to ride on this car.  He screeches for it every time he sees it.

My basil plant

I definitely do not have a green thumb.  But at the urging of a friend, I purchased a basil plant and managed to keep it alive and growing for a while.  Amanda loved to count the number of the flowers that grew on the plant and liked to help me harvest the leaves.

LA - friends

We hung out with some college friends in LA.  Amanda Jo connected up with Marcus and had a blast at the water fountain (yet again).

San Diego - Beach

Cameron and AJ also went to the beach and visited with Uncle Doug and Aunt Julie.

San Diego Wild Animal Park

I haven't had time to blog lately.  So here I am doing some catching up from event from the last month.  We went to San Diego and LA in July and visited some family and friends there.

At the zoo, her favorite part was probably getting wet at the spraying fountain.?!?

Rocking chair

The rocking chair is a Crawford family heirloom. We have a picture of Amanda sitting in the chair at around his age as well.

Adventure at the zoo

Couple of weeks ago, we went to the zoo with a bunch of families from church.  It was a blast for all.  The kids seem to just enjoy running around, climbing on whatever structure available, following each other.  Even Cameron had a lot of fun.  All the kids, at one point or another, were making funny faces or doing funny things to make him smile.

Berry picking

We went strawberry and olallieberries picking with some friends from church earlier this month.  Last time we went berry picking, Amanda was two years old and was eating whatever she was finding.  She exercised a lot more self-controlled this time.  She and Christa followed each other everywhere on their adventure.

Dance class

Amanda had been attending a "dance" class for toddlers for the last year or so with her friend Christa.  It ended a few weeks ago and here is a clip of what they did at dance class.

Little friend's birthday's party

Amanda celebrated Paulina's birthday at the playground with lots of food and fun.  She also brought home lots of candies.

We don't know why throwing a bib is so funny but we love hearing Cameron laugh.

Bath time with two

Amanda loves to take a bath with Cameron.  Bubble bath is quite popular as Amanda enjoys "feeding" Cameron bubbles.  He just eats it up.

Cameron's first food

We started Cameron on some solids back when he turned 6 months old.  Soon after eating some pureed sweet potato, he spat them out at me twice. Because of that, I decided to use a different method for introducing solid food.  I just cut up a bunch of soft-cooked food into chunks and offer them to him.  He had been doing quite well with them, though it can get very very messy.

Back at blogging

I guess I have taken a LONG break from blogging.  Here a few pictures of us on vacation in Maui back in January.  It feels like a lifetime ago since we've been there.  

The highlight of our trip was the whalewatching cruise.  We saw a lot of humpback whales and a few of them came very close to our boat. This was the best picture we had of that.
